A few days ago Hazel, who turned six years old last month, started asking me some interesting questions at the dinner table. Not, where do babies come from, but how do they come out. Our conversation went something like this.

So, there’s a walkathon going on at my kid’s school. We were asked today to get pledges, which is a flat rate and not based on how many laps you do (hey wanna pledge?). Hazel’s busy cleaning her room, she wants to go to her friend’s house tomorrow which is highly motivating to getting this [...]

I had written the following, and I thought it was neat enough to keep it around.  And well, it’s rather neat. ‘Course mah opinyon maht b’byussed.
Life’s been just full of stuff.  I just got over being sick, some stomach virus. Kenlon got it too, a few hours after I did. Hazel had it already, so [...]

So Hazel came home from church one day with a list of what she professed to be her talents.
It said: Ask me about my talents:
Swimming (she needs a teacher)
Ride my bike (she has a tricycle)
Be nice to others (she’s generally nice to everybody, even the people who suck, so maybe that is a talent)
