So, there’s a walkathon going on at my kid’s school. We were asked today to get pledges, which is a flat rate and not based on how many laps you do (hey wanna pledge?). Hazel’s busy cleaning her room, she wants to go to her friend’s house tomorrow which is highly motivating to getting this done. While cleaning she noticed her birthday money. She came down stairs and started talking to me about the Walk A Thon and how she had money, and that her school needs money. She then promptly decided all on her own to give her school $12 of her own birthday money! That’s how old she’s going to turn in first grade.

I am amazed, pleased, and gratified in this act of generosity from her. I hope she stays generous, and develops money smarts to go with it. :)
